Jazzotron - I Can Swing

Serbian Uros Petkovic is the talented producer and composer known as Jazzotron, who has recently burst onto the Electro-swing scene in particularly flamboyant fashion. With an eclectic musical experience Petkovic is already a big name on the Balkan music scene, but has only recently emerged within the Electro-Swing consciousness. A master violinist and guitarist, his titillating first forays into the style have left us all hot under the collar!

Delight Remixes

From the moment we first heard it, we knew that Jamie Berry’s track, “Delight”, was something very special, and as it turned out, you lot were inclined to agree. It was a smash-hit over night, with many of you telling us you had it playing on repeat! So a while back we decided to set fans a challenge in the form of remixing his tantalisingly sweet original and we were blown away by the sheer volume of eager offerings! With over six-hundred applicants the task of whittling them down was a daunting one. Luckily we had recruited the velvety-voiced Alice Francis, electro-swing legend DJ Typoboy, and Arnaud Vial, guitarist of the spectacular Caravan Palace to help. They dedicated themselves to judging the competition, eventually choosing Nikola Vujiciv, Grant Lazlo and Fabian’s versions as their illustrious winners!

The exciting EP compiles not only our winner’s remixes, but Jamie’s hugely inspiring original track. To place the cherry well and truly on this cake of “Delight”, it also includes Dutty Moonshine’s bass heavy, Dub-steppy interpretation, a much darker version of this intriguing and flexible tune. We’re satisfied that the EP’s variety of versions truly caters for every mood, and every taste.

Nikola Vujicic - I Walk In

"I Walk In" struts with cocksure confidence and a horn loop that's not too far away from Riva and Noze's seminal "I Was Drunk". More groove-based and less novelty than Riva and co, it's a strictly heads-down-and-air-trumpets-out deal. "Butterflies In The Rain" adds more of a quirky twist using a much larger vocal sample before the chugging 4/4s make themselves known. Anyone familiar with the 'something in my front pocket for you' song from South Park will be suitably amused.

Magic takes us back to the first Jamie Berry release "Out of My Mind" and is a nice mystical track filled with interesting samples combined with the usual Jamie Berry quirks.

Currently residing in Leeds, producer Jamie Berry has carved out a decent niche for himself thanks to his prolific approach to releasing his own electro-swing productions. For his latest offering, he has teamed up with enigmatic singer Octavia Rose for a track that really defines his sound more than any other. Berry has really learnt how to fuse antique 'neo-Charleston' vocals and melodies seamlessly with contemporary electro-house production techniques resulting in a dance-floor smasher!

Alphabet Pony - Atlas

Released back in September 2011, this track remains a liquid dnb favourite. Alphabet Pony aka Archie Ward has recently set up his own label Reno Records and we are expecting to hear some great things coming from them soon.

Jamie Power - Bounce

This so far relatively unknown artist Jamie Power has been creating some exceptional tracks from his home town of Breda in the Netherlands. His passion for Minimal and Tech-House resonates in his outstanding ability to create a unique feel of abstract Minimal, Tech-House and Deep House. Bounce is the debut release through FLAKK and we look forward to some exciting new releases to come from this producer over the coming months.

Jamie Berry - Marvelous

Released 3rd August 2012. The young producer from Leeds in the UK released his first 30s swing music inspired track 'Out of My Mind' on Flak Records back in June and hit the top spot on the Electro House charts on Juno and has led to invitations to play at major clubs in France, Germany, Canada, and the UK. Here, his second release 'Marvellous' has maintained his quirky and interesting mixture of electro, swing music and wobbly beats.
